State agencies have the opportunity to support professional development of Employment Support Personnel in interest of Competitive Integrated Employment (CIE) outcomes for people with significant disabilities. The purpose of this webinar is to provide guidelines for consideration in state agencies' decision making about requiring employment support personnel to acquire certificates of training or certification as Employment Support Professionals. The professional development expectations in states often happens in a broader context of multiple systemic changes to promote the expansion of CIE.

The webinar will:

• Describe national training certificates and certification available to Employment Support Personnel
• Acknowledge challenges that states have had to address when requiring a national certificate or certification
• Analyze factors to consider when state agencies are deciding to require a national certificate or certification
• Outline guidelines for state agencies to consider when supporting the professional development of Employment Support Personnel in their state.
